Tuchel Doesn’t Care Great Pressure At PSG

Thomas Tuchel insists he does not care about his future at Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) despite the escalating pressure.

Tuchel’s position as head coach of the Ligue 1 giants is in question after losing 1-2 to Manchester United at home in the Champions League (UCL) last Wednesday.

The German has won the league in his first two seasons driving PSG as well as bringing the team to the first UCL final of the 2019-20 season before losing to Bayern Munich.

Tuchel declined to speculate on speculation about his future by saying in a press conference: “I do not surf the internet for Google my name. I know how difficult it is here. It does not matter to me. I did not expect anything else.

“I can imagine how it looks from the outside. I can rely on myself and my staff, all who are at Ooredoo (PSG training center) and my relationship with this team.

“That is what we will do and hopefully it will bear fruit. That is the need.

“We are part of this club and will continue to do so,” he said.

Tuchel, whose team is currently in second place in Ligue 1, still has a contract with PSG until the end of the season.

Ahead of PSG’s meeting with Dijon early tomorrow morning, the 47-year-old coach said he would not be upset if the club refused to extend his contract.

“The situation is clear because I still have a contract and for me, it makes it something different. Personally, I work the same way.

“The situation is that the world is now more complicated with this virus (COVID-19). It is very difficult to make plans for someone but at the same time, it is very impossible not to communicate.

“If we are not talking about contract extension, we are not talking about contract extension, it is good. We have to accept that it is not due to hatred.

“I do my job with my staff as best I can.

“I will give everything to win. I am with my team and want to win everything, it is very clear,” he added.
